Hamstring tightness or injuries

Tension in the iliacus and psoas muscles (your hip flexors) can contribute to hamstring tightness and even hamstring injuries. These areas often play a game of tug-of-war because of how they attach to opposing sides of the pelvis.

When tight, the hip flexor muscles pull the pelvis forward into an anteriorly tilted alignment, which places the hamstrings in a more lengthened position where they, too, will begin to develop tension and may grow weaker.

Addressing this issue may involve techniques to help the tight hip flexors and hamstrings relax, restore a more neutral position of the pelvis, and strengthen key areas that stabilize around this better alignment.

If muscle tension and anterior pelvic tilt are contributing to hamstring issues, here's how our products can help.

Mark: releases the iliacus and psoas muscles, reducing their pull on the pelvis to help restore a more neutral position

Orbit: releases the piriformis and other deep hip rotators in the glute region with broad pressure; can also be used to release the hamstrings or as a warm up for the hip flexors before using the Mark

Band: helps strengthen key muscles around your core, glutes, hamstrings, and hips to create stability and reduce tightness

Book: our Founder's book Tight Hip, Twisted Core - The Key to Unresolved Pain offers deeper insights into muscle tension and how it is impacting your pain, helping you understand how to address the root cause

When used consistently over time, the Aletha Health products support less muscle tension, better alignment, and increased strength & stability. This combination has helped many people improve their hamstring issues, and we hope it will help you too.
