Achilles tendon

Achilles issues may originate from the hips. Tension in the hip flexors affects the motion occurring at the hip joint, which starts a chain reaction of compensation down the leg that often results in overpronation of the foot, increasing strain on the Achilles tendon.

This is often coupled with tension in the soleus, a deeper calf muscle that tries to stabilize the Achilles tendon to counteract the alignment and movement issue happening at the foot. Together, the overpronation and tension in the soleus causes tension to develop in the Achilles tendon, leading to pain or injury.

If tension in these areas is contributing to your Achilles pain, here's how our products can help.

Mark: releases the iliacus and psoas muscles with precise pressure

Range: releases the soleus muscle with precise pressure; also used on the neck, chest, and upper traps

Orbit: releases the piriformis and other deep hip rotators in the glute region with broad pressure; can also be used to warm up the hip flexors before using the Mark

Band: helps strengthen key muscles around your core, glutes, and hips to create stability and reduce stress down the leg

Book: our Founder's book Tight Hip, Twisted Core - The Key to Unresolved Pain offers deeper insights into muscle tension and how it is impacting your pain, helping you understand how to address the root cause
